A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL CAMPAIGN.

WHEREAS, for over 100 years, the memorials and monuments on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., have represented the milestones in the evolution and growth of the United States; and

WHEREAS, never before, or since, has our nation been so united in a common goal as it was during World War II; and

WHEREAS, the men and women who served in World War II won the most devastating war in human history; and

WHEREAS, in order for the World War II Memorial to be a truly national memorial, each state must participate and have an interest in the memorial:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby give our complete support to the World War II Memorial Campaign and we urge each state to participate in this great initiative.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the American Battle Monuments Commission and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
